BETHESDA, Md. – April 7, 2020 – The Young Auto Care Network Group (YANG), a community of the Auto Care Association, is partnering with the Automotive Aftermarket Charitable Foundation (AACF) to begin a grassroots campaign, the #YANGgive19 Challenge, to raise support for the industry and the charitable foundation during the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Officially launched on April 3, 2020, through a social media post, the YANG council’s message is simple and clear: In this moment of crisis, for those who are able to support and donate $19 to the AACF, now is the time do it. YANG is encouraging its current members, YANG mentors and the entire auto care industry to donate to the AACF, while posting a photo with the hashtag #YANGgive19 on social media outlets (including Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook) in support of the cause and to challenge others to participate.

“We are hoping it catches on,” said Jacki Lutz, head of global marketing and communications, aftermarket business, Sensata Technologies, and 2019-2020 YANG Advisory Council Member on the #YANGgive19 Challenge. “It is essentially trying to start a movement to donate $19 to the Automotive Aftermarket Charitable Foundation to help folks in the industry struggling during these challenging times.”

YANG’s member network surpasses 1,600 under-40 professionals in the automotive aftermarket industry. Additionally, there are more than 70 YANG mentors, comprised of past YANG members and industry members who want to remain engaged in giving back to the industry’s future leaders.
