Auto Care Association
Tom Schiavo is a Data Quality Manager in the Technology & Digital Products Department at the Auto Care Association.
Joining the Auto Care Association in 2016, Schiavo is responsible for the data quality and governance around the widely-adopted data standards ACES® (Aftermarket Catalog Exchange Standard) and PIES™ (Product Information Exchange Standard), as well as their supporting reference databases. This enables auto care industry businesses to increase their sales and efficiency. He works with the vehicle and equipment industry to enhance the data standards for the ever-evolving aftermarket. Furthermore, Schiavo is responsible for the training and support of the data standards, to ensure the user community understands and utilizes the data standards to their fullest.
In addition, for the past seven years, he was the liaison for the Automotive Content Professionals Network (ACPN), a community segment of the Auto Care Association. As liaison he was responsible for leading 10 fantastic volunteer individuals who worked tirelessly to deliver on the community’s core mission to educate, inspire and connect industry professionals, including the planning of the annual ACPN program at the Auto Care Connect conference (formerly called the ACPN Knowledge Exchange conference), which is the largest gathering of content professionals and their vendors and solution partners in the automotive industry
Prior to joining the Auto Care Association, Schiavo was employed by Cardone Industries, Inc. in Philadelphia. There, he served six years in the cataloging department as a data analyst and leader of electronic cataloging.
Schiavo has been in the automotive industry for over 17 years. Early in his career, he worked at several OE dealerships, including Porsche, Audi, Volkswagen, Ford, and Subaru, working in various roles.
Schiavo earned a Bachelor of Science in business management with a concentration in entrepreneurship from Virginia Tech. Additionally, he has earned his Automotive Aftermarket Professional (AAP) and Automotive Content Professional (ACP) designation through Northwood University.
