Resolutions, Real-time Data and Release Notes
One of your New Year’s resolutions must be reviewing release notes, right? Okay, now that I have your attention, let’s discuss real-time data and two great elements releasing this year that were announced back in September 2022.
Weekly Reference Databases
To support the industry’s initiative of real-time data, the following ACES® and PIES™ Data Standards supporting reference databases will be published weekly began Jan. 12, 2023:Subscribers can add, modify and utilize updated reference database contents to update their catalogs rapidly. Ultimately, this can help to increase product sales and reduce returns.
Our publication day for these database updates will be changed from Fridays to Thursdays.
The Vehicle Configuration database (VCdb) will continue to be published monthly and will now be published on the last Thursday of the month, unless otherwise noted.
Subscription Update
To continue providing quality support and reference database content for use in the ACES® and PIES™ Data Standards, PCdb will now require either an active subscription to the VCdb and/or the PAdb to view and download its contents. This change took effect Jan. 12, 2023.Non-subscribers will need to subscribe to VCdb and/or PAdb to access the PCdb. Please visit our subscriptions page on our website for further details at autocare.org/subscriptions.
Summary
We are excited to provide these new enhancements! We hope these will help you with accessing the latest content quickly so you can sell more parts. Release notes can be found at autocarevip.com. A list of publication dates will be added to the release notes. If you have any questions, contact the Auto Care Standards team at technology@autocare.org.
