The Mort Schwartz Excellence in Education Award is given annually by the Auto Care Association’s Education Committee to the individual, auto care company or educational institution that best advances the concepts and programs for education or continuing education in the North American auto care industry during 2016. 

  • Innovation of new auto care education programs for any auto care audience,
  • Advancement of existing programs, and/or
  • Superlative effort to further promote the educational programs or education fund raising efforts.

Rick Guirlinger
Bourke Services, LLC

Guirlinger was selected for the 2016 Mort Schwartz Excellence in Education Award for his tireless work as an
educator and mentor to many young and up-and-coming executives in the aftermarket. He has been a member of the University of the Aftermarket faculty for several years, concentrating his teaching on financial analysis, financial reporting, industry data interpretation and financial decision-making. He is more than a teacher of concepts; he has proven to be an engaging instructor who can integrate real-world examples with the academic ideas in his classes.

He has been on the faculty for the following programs: Leadership 2.0, Heavy Duty Leadership, Tire Leadership 21, Aftermarket 101 and AWDA Conference at AAPEX. Guirlinger continues to be very involved in the aftermarket and auto care industry.
