We are pleased to announce the following updates:

The new Auto Care VIP system has LAUNCHED!

(replacing EnhancedStandard.com)

We are excited to announce the launch of Auto Care Association's VIP system (replacing  EnhancedStandard.com, ptattributes.pricedex.com, and brandtable.pricedex.com)! To access any and all Auto Care standards, users will now visit  www.autocarevip.com. From this site, users will find interactive screens representing the standards data, and download pages providing access to the database downloads. We have included the historical downloads for the past year for your convenience. We will now resume our standard database release schedule from the VIP system.

Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation as we make this transition. We hope this results in a streamlined and more user-friendly experience. As always, please provide feedback on how we can better serve you to  technology@autocare.org.

Thank you!

PCdb ASCII File Format Update

It has been brought to our attention that the PCdb ASCII files from Enhancedstandard.com had a different file structure (missing content, column order differences, different table naming and filed names) than the other file formats (SQL Server, Microsoft Access and MYSQL), and did not match the data structure documented in the ER diagrams. The PCdb ASCII file from autocareVIP.com DOES match all other format types and the ER diagrams.

For those dependent on the legacy ASCII file structure, Auto Care will continue to provide the legacy format (in addition to the new format) for the next two months, June and July 2017 (May 2017 was the first of a three month period) while you and your service providers migrate to the updated PCdb ASCII file structure. After the three month period has concluded, we will ONLY publish the PCdb ASCII file with the structure that matches the other file formats and diagrams.

Please visit autocare.org/technology and autocare.communifire.com for updates or email any questions to technology@autocare.org.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience as we continue to move forward with the new system.

To download the legacy PCdb ASCII format, please visit: https://autocare.communifire.com/spaces/vip-vehicle-information-portal/files/VIP/PCdb

Special Release Announcement:

As a reminder regarding this month’s VCdb files. They are smaller in size when compared to the February publication due to the re-launching of the VCdb Change Log in the new system. The Change Log tables in the various publication files (Complete, Light Duty, Light Duty and Powersports, Medium/Heavy Trucks, and Powersports) only contain the changes that occurred to the data for this month’s publication. The separate Change Log data bases (Complete, Light Duty, Light Duty and Powersports, Medium/Heavy Trucks, and Powersports) contain all changes since the launching of the new system.

The historical Change Log data may still be accessed through the February publication which included all changes processed in the VCdb since the inception of change log.

SQL Server 2000 Download Format Retirement

As of the March 2016 publication, we have discontinued SQL Server 2000 as a download option for the ACES databases. The VCdb, PCdb, Qdb and PAdb will still be supported in Access 2007, ASCII, SQL Server 2008 R2 and MYSQL formats. For our support philosophy moving forward, we will mirror support windows outlined in the Microsoft product support lifecycle. The support lifecycle for SQL server is ( https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle?C2=1044 )

April 2016 was the first publication where the SQL Server 2000 format is no longer being published

Please ensure you are selecting from the following formats for downloading the ACES databases:

  • Access 2007
  • ASCII
  • MYSQL
  • SQL Server 2008 R2
    • This version is the more up to date offering from Microsoft. It is not backwards compatible with the base SQL 2008 version offered
    • It is also the only version utilized in the ACES standards since its original publication back in 2012
