Preparing for Data Transition

In preparation for the launch of the new system to replace enhancedstandard.com, Auto Care will not publish VCdb, Qdb and PAdb files in March in the enhancedstandard.com site. Auto Care will continue publishing PCdb and Brand Table through March according to our regular schedule.

At the end of March, Auto Care will stop publishing the PCdb in the enhancedstandard.com and freeze the Brand Table. Auto Care will use this time to transition data between enhancedstandard.com and the new system. At the end of April, Auto Care will return to the regularly scheduled release cycle for all databases in the new system.

Release Notes Retraction - Tables will not be removed from databases

Thank you to everyone that was able to provide feedback. After reviewing feedback and reviewing the recommendation with the Technology Standards Committee, we will not be removing the tables listed below from the new system.

We apologize for the confusion this may have caused and we are happy to discuss this further if you have any questions. Long-term we believe these types of changes will be an improvement and we will be developing the recommendations for the Technology Standards Committee to approve or disprove for workgroup discussions.

Thank you for your continued to support and we appreciate your feedback.

Product Offering Updates

SQL Server 2000 Download Format Retirement

As of the March 2016 publication, we have discontinued SQL Server 2000 as a download option for the ACES databases on enhancedstandard.com. The VCdb, PCdb, Qdb and PAdb will still be supported in Access 2007, ASCII, SQL Server 2008 R2 and MYSQL formats. For our support philosophy moving forward, we will mirror support windows outlined in the Microsoft product support lifecycle. The support lifecycle for SQL server is ( https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle?C2=1044 )

April 2016 was the first publication where the SQL Server 2000 format is no longer being published

Please ensure you are selecting from the following formats for downloading the ACES databases:

  • Access 2007
  • ASCII
  • MYSQL
  • SQL Server 2008 R2
    • This version is the more up to date offering from Microsoft. It is not backwards compatible with the base SQL 2008 version offered
    • It is also the only version utilized in the ACES standards since its original publication back in 2012
