Industry Technology Veteran to Head Telematics Initiative
BETHESDA, MD – June 29, 2016 – The Auto Care Association has named Joe Register director of emerging technologies, with initial emphasis on heading the group’s vehicle telematics initiative. Register has 40 years of experience delivering progressive information system solutions to companies in every channel of the automotive aftermarket, including the design and implementation of entire enterprise systems.
BETHESDA, MD – June 29, 2016 – The Young Auto Care Network Group (YANG) of the Auto Care Association has selected Ciara Pegoda, Dipaco, Inc. to represent YANG at the the highly-acclaimed University of the Aftermarket’s 2016-2017 Leadership 2.0 program. Pegoda’s scholarship covers the price of tuition, class materials and meals.
BETHESDA, MD – June 28, 2016 – The Auto Care Association has announced the appointment of Nathan Perrine as chief financial officer (CFO). Perrine, who will assume responsibilities on July 18, most recently served as vice president, finance and administration, and CFO of the American Coatings Association in Washington, D.C.
BETHESDA, MD – June 27, 2016 – The Auto Care Association hosted a trade mission to Guatemala on June 21-22, the second in a series of trade missions organized as part of the Market Development Cooperator Program (MDCP) award from the U.S. Department of Commerce. The association received the award to help the automotive industry increase exports to free trade agreement partners in Latin America.
BETHESDA, MD – June 16, 2016 --The Auto Care Association today applauded Michigan Governor Rick Snyder for vetoing House Bill 4344, legislation intended to update regulations in the Michigan Motor Vehicle Service and Repair Act. However, the bill authors also included new language that limited the use of aftermarket parts by mandating that an aftermarket part would have to be verified by a nationally-recognized automotive parts testing agency.
First Webinar to Be Presented on June 28
BETHESDA, MD – June 15, 2016 – The Auto Care Association and IHS Automotive, a leading source of information and insight into critical areas that shape the automotive aftermarket, have partnered to present a new Industry Analysis Webinar Series featuring experts on key issues currently facing the industry. Each webinar will be presented by an IHS Automotive industry expert. The first webinar will be presented by Michael Robinet, managing director of automotive advisory services, IHS Automotive, on Tuesday, June 28, at 2 p.m. ET.
BETHESDA, MD – June 15, 2016 – The Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association (AWDA) and the Auto Care Association have selected the 2016 recipients of the Auto Care Internship Scholarship. Four students will receive scholarships of $2,500 to contribute to the costs of round-trip travel from their permanent address to the internship location, lodging, utilities and food. This program was designed to provide financial support for students pursuing internships across the country to gain valuable, real-world education in a variety of auto care industry careers.
