BETHESDA, MD – February 22, 2017 – The Auto Care Association submitted
comments yesterday urging the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) to begin a formal rulemaking concerning a petition
from the Coalition for Fair Port Practices. The letter requests the FMC to ensure that demurrage and detention practices are fair and responsible when moving cargo through our nation’s ports.

BETHESDA, MD – February 2, 2017 – The Auto Care Association has joined Americans for Affordable Products (AAP), a growing coalition of businesses and trade associations that represents millions of American jobs, today to stop the Border Adjustment Tax (BAT). The Auto Care Association represents the entire independent auto repair industry supply chain, including manufacturers, distributors, retailers and service and repair businesses, which employs 4.2 million people.
BETHESDA, MD – February 1, 2017 – The Auto Care Association has announced that it is partnering with the University of North Florida (UNF) in Jacksonville, Fla. as the next step in its program to engage and attract college-aged students. Auto Care Careers staff and member volunteers are working with UNF’s Coggin College of Business to promote the auto care industry as a highly desirable career choice. The Princeton Review has named the Coggin College of Business one of the nation’s “Best Business Schools” every year for the past decade.
